chain question

Is there a tool to break a chain, make it so it's not a loop? I would think there is, if so where could I get one and how much would it be?

dennis kirk sells them. after you break the chain put in a master link so you can undo it easily. www.denniskirk.com
you can do it with a chisel and a hammer and grinder, but you can also mess them up that way.

its called a chain break,check any local dealer and they will have one...
