Ok guys, I've been using the search engine today.... ran across a couple things.
First- adding the 89 CR250 head gasket. Can you run on 93 octane with this upgrade?
Second- CR250 ignition upgrade. What year and/or how much to do this?
Next- intake spacers and/or reed block mods. Do they work?

what year?

yes the block works.. you should notice a small difference.. for a few bucs.. also you can split a factory head gasket and use a thin piece of it to increase yr compression.. hence more power.. and yes what years are we talking about?

I assume he is talking about an 83(in his sig,.)

Actually, No. I was talking about 85-86. But since I've started the thread, lets talk about all of them.

I'm interested in this too. I have an 85. It has a DG pipe and other than that it is totally stock. Stock piston, motor has never been apart. This thing is near mint condition, still on stock tires too. I do have an ESR ATC-5 on the way.
I'm thinking I may put some rings and a thinner head gasket in it.

why does splitting your head gasket creat more power???

If you split the head gasket, it will be thinner. A thinner head gasket will give you a smaller combustion chamber which increases compression which increases power. Same result as having the head milled.

You will notice a difference with a set of aftermarket reeds. It can give you more top end, or more top end. If you get fiberglass reeds, they flex easy, and they open at lower rpms, giving you more bottom end.Carbon fiber reeds do the exact opposite. Also, the fiberglass reeds come with a plate that goes under the reeds. What it does is it has a hole in it, and the plate covers the opening, and the hole redirects where the fuel and air will go. And usally, the reed manfactuer will include a plate that will replace the stock reed stops, allowing them to open farther.
Intake spacers do something for power, but not much. The spacer moves the carb. farther away from the engine. It will take longer for the fuel/air charge to reach the cylinder. This means the charge will mix alittle better, give you alittle more power.

This thing is near mint condition, still on stock tires too I wont touch it(you have done enough already)if its near mint, the only thing I would do is put a set of 20' tires on it.(smaller tires make a huge difference)just my .002

Yeah, I'd like to put a CR500 engine in it but it's way to nice to do that to it. I thought the stock tires were 20"?, I can look when I get home. It actually came with 2 extra sets of gold rims for it. One set had 18's on it. I put those on, I like them. I'll post some pics of it with the ESR pipe, should be here today. You guys won't belive it. Almost looks new, it was in storage for 10 years. Other than tires, pipe and I want a PRM grab bar and I'll probably leave this one alone.

I got a hopped up 250r, mine is awesome, cr ignition, elka rear shock, lsr carrier, axle, anti-fade, hubs, 18" klaws on 8", short track kit, 38 a/s, v-force reeds, atc-5 pipe, progressive springs, wave rotors, and more. I'm not sure about what with my motor, I had a esr 330, but I want to put back a stock cylinder(330 doesn't rev fast enough). with the cr ignition you can't use lights, mine was a basket case when I got it, so It was perfectly fine the mod the hell out of it, but a stock one????????
