someone please post the 3 pics of the stator.

the new stator has a tab right smack dab in the middle of the whole thing. is that where i'm supposed to re-connect the black/red wire? The old stator is soldered onto the end. i'm kind of confused.

yes, it's hard to see but if you look hard, you can see the black wire soldered onto the end of the old stator, and the small tab right in the middle of the new one. am i just supposed to connect the wire onto that tab? i'm assuming i have to since there really isn't a tab on either end. any help? i know lots of people have done this.

also, i tried checking both with an ohm meter and it didn't read anything. i'm not sure i did it right, but i connected the red lead on the meter to the tab and the black lead to the motor and it did nothing.

You solder the red/black wire to the tab in the middle and just bolt it in place.
Make sure it is clean where it mounts. You should read 200-300 ohms from ground to that tab, then the end of the wire you plug in the harness after the repair.

maybe i'm not using the ohm meter correctly. i'll post a pic of how i'm hooking it up and maybe someone can tell me if everything is set properly. there are a few different switches/dials to choose from. as i have it now, i can't get any reading off of the new stator. does it matter if it's bolted on, or can it work by itself if i ground it to the motor?
