I have an 85 200x with a cobra pipe, uni filter and wisceo high compression piston on my first bore ive done all the engine work myself and upon putting it together ive encounterd problems which I havent previously.

I put a new ngk plug number D8EA and after ill say half a tank through it the little nipple at the end(not the over hang bar piece,I mean that little nipple looking thing) looked like it had been ground down.

upon acceleration I hear a sorta loud tick or clicking sound(usually at the begining of a higher gear when the engine seems to be under most power)

the main problem would be when im accelerating at the end of 4th full throttle the bike will slowly shut down and stall(im not even really able to get into 5th)

changing the plug seems like a very fast very short term fix

ive never jetted or played with the carb before(except to clean it) however I dont know how to change jets or know what jet I have in right now as far as I know its stock.

lol sorry about the book I just wanted to describe the problem as best I could
anyone have this problem before?

with the pipe and filter you might need the next size up jet. with it bogging down at full throttle it might not be getting enough fuel. Is the plug tip white? does it run better with the choke on?

200xkwit ,,, i've heard that when you run a high compression piston you need to run a high octane fuel. you probbly already knew it though ,,,
i reckon it would on how of a "high compression " piston you put in also,,,

Im running regular pump gas (what size jet do you recommend) also when timeing the motor you line it up with the F mark right? I think I might have done it to the T mark on accident now that I think of it, but it idles fine. would it be able to idle with the timing off a mark look that?

the bike is more cold hearted when starting then I remember stock but could that just be the mods?

the bike does seem to be getting hot also after riding it a while not real bad though

what do you experts think I should do first besides check the timing lol

If you are running regualar pump gas that might be your problem. Run a higher octane gas.

sounds like you are running waaaay lean if you are melting the eletrode on the spark plug..from what i can understand of the "nipple thingy" if you did them mods all at once and didnt upgrade the main jet and pilot jet...stop ridein it befor you burn a hole in your piston....you will more than likely have to step up a size or a few on the jets to get it right...if you could take a picture of the spark plug after running it for a few mins...or after it dies in 4th....or descripe it like what colour is it...will help every one figure out whats goin on alot faster :)

all depends on the compression of the piston, is it a 12:1 or lower? if its around 10:1 you dont need race gas.

For wiseco 10.25:1 run at least 93 octane..for 12:1 run at the minimum, 100 octane but should probably be more like 104-110. As for timing: cam timing line up the 'T' mark, for ignition timing line up with the 'F' mark. For a main jet try something around 120, I think standard is 108. Does anyone have suggestion's for main jet?
