Lighting coil

I need a lighting coil for my 81 185S and was wondering if anyone knows the oem part #. Can I find this aftermarket or is this a dealer item only.

110, 185, 200 (notX) are interchangeable. maybe a 125 also

Ok, so I ordered the stator coil from hyper parts for $11 but I still need the lighting coil and I am not willing to shell out over $125 for the stator assembly from partsfish/bikebandit. Does anyone have a lighting coil for sale on this board? If not I am going to try and have it rewound at the the local alternator/starter rebuilders.

what do u mean lighting coil? u mean the coil pack with spark plug wire?

Don't be sure it doesn't work until it doesn't work. I damaged mine removing the flywheel and it still works fine. Another I have reads 40 ohms and makes bright light.
I have been thinking of trying to fit a second one in there, as well as rewinding one for more watts. Someday maybe.

Stators Inc. at 508-478-5712 . They sell used, rewound, and they can rewind yours as well.
