Hey guys....won this front hub and rotor in an ebay auction and the front rim I have doesnt fit it, it was claimed to be off an 85 250R..... arent 250R hubs gold? 350X maybe? Will it work if I use a 350X rim?

I am 99.9% sure it is from a 350X. I am holding mine in my hand comparing them, they are identical. If you would be interested, I would like to purchase the axle portion only from you, if you don't need it. PM me if interested.

I'll keep that in mind Joel but for now if I can use it I am. If I cant I need to get the correct 85/86 250R hub, rotor and axle bolt to replace it so I might be looking to trade it. If I can use it with a 350X front rim and tire with no mods to the bike or brake system then I am gonna use it. I'll PM ya if anything changes. Thanks for offering help.

It sure looks more like a 83-85 200x hub assembly. The reason I say that is the style of nuts for bolting the rim on. The 350x and 250r's used a cone lug nut and the 83-85 200x used a regular flange nut ( like in the picture ).

It looks like an 86 and 85, only that it's not gold in color. I have a 1986 set-ups, if your interested, it needs to be reworked but it's solid, axle bolt too.

The bolt pattern is too large for the 250R front rim I aquired in a package deal. Thats why I thought maybe 350X.

Looks like a 83-85 200X front hub, my 2 cents

I retract my vote. The lug nuts are different. My 350X has pressed in studs, so this should be from the 200X. I wonder if there is a width difference in the actual axle shaft? Mine is ~320mm long. My bolt circle is 170mm.

The larger bolt pattern fits the earlier 200x. The smaller bolt pattern fits the 350X

Hey guys...the guy I got this from (the hub set up above that I won in an ebay auction) says he will work with me on getting the correct hub IF he finds that this is a 200X hub set up. He says his 200X hubs are black.....was this true of all years or did the 200X ever come with a hub that is silver as the on in the pic. I need absolute proof so that no matter how he trys to spin it I dont have to pay the return shipping to get back to him and pay it again just to get the setup back if he disagrees. I KNOW it isnt an 85 250R hub as was described in the auction title....I just want to cover my bases so I can put an agreement in place before I return ship it. I just need a part I can use....I really didnt want to mix and match parts unless there was some distinct advantage...and I have not heard that using a 200x front hub and rotor is more advantageous than using the stock 85/86 ATC hub&rotor.

WHy are you guys judging on color??? It means nothing!!!

WHat you need to do is measure the length in inches from stud to stud diagonally and then report the measurements here.

By the way: I recenetly noticed 250R (85/86) front hubs are differant form 86/87 200x hubs (and porbly 350X hubs then). There was a discrepency about that a little while ago I believe.

The guy I got it from is hung up on the color saying that all his 200X front hubs are black...I am just trying to appease him to keep the deal from going down the toilet. Does any on have Honda specs for the 200X and 250R from hub bolt pattern dimensions? I took a rough measurement from stud to stud across the center of the hub and it is approximately 7 3/4". The 250R front wheel I have is 6 3/4" from the center of the bolt holes measured across the center of the wheel.

Here's the bolt patterns:

83-85 200X's: 4x190mm
86-87 200X's: 4x170mm
81 250R: 3x100mm
82 250R: 4x130mm
83-84 250R: 4x110mm
85-86 250R: 4x170mm
85-86 350X: 4x170mm

This is from a chart in a parts book that I have.

Isn't that just great? Guy wants part. Guy is misinformed and is sent wrong part. Guy considers returning it with reason, but then reserves his decision because another guy wants to trade him the unwanted part for what he really wanted.

That's the nice thing about having so many people on here, you can always find a giver and a taker.

Joel I tell ya its gonna be easier to trade it on here than it is to return it for the correct part or parts of equal value. Dont get me wrong, the guy I got the hub from is cooperating, but is saying that if he finds the hub to be the same as his other R hubs he is gonna charge me to get the same hub I dont need back. I know it sounds simple but the guy obviously is looking for a reason to make me keep the hub rather than swap it and I want an agreement in place and in writing via email before I pay to ship it back. So if I can swap it here that is fine with me. I'll keep yall informed.
