All the Tiger talk lately has made me really want one. I'm gonna start really looking for one hard when my 200x is done. Anyway, here's what I think is so cool. I was looking at the Tiger stuff on the site and came across this picture of the Tiger 500. The sign in the background is for Richard's Honda-Yamaha in Little Rock, that's where I get all my parts and stuff. They have my 200x cylinder as we speak. I'm gonna print it out and take it to some of my local dealers and see if they know anything about it/where it is. Maybe OMAR wants to get rid of it. And so, my quest for a Tiger has begun.

Im fairly sure the Tiger 500 was simply a TIger 250 with a 500cc Rotax Powerplant pumped into it. the ATC500R before it was even a thought of others Id say ;)

Why's the Tiger 500 mythological? Kasey from .org rode one a month or two ago.

how is the quest going? This article I have says that the frame was stretched slightly to accommodate the 500 motor.

Well, I printed out the piture and took it down to my honda dealer (the one on the billboard) yesterday. I gave it to the mechanic cause I always talk to him and he's really cool. He showed it to one of the other guys there and they thought they might know who it was and that the dude they thought it belonged to still had all his stuff from the 80's. He told me he'd make a few calls and do some research for me. I went back today to pick up a piston and my cylinder for my 200x. Charles (my mechanic) told me he made some calls or something and he thinks it actually belonged to some guy from a Yamaha dealership in Wisconsin and went to pulls around the country. Since I got my X stuff and it'll be going again pretty soon, I'm gonna sell my Arctic Cat in the next week or so. I'll have some cash from the AC and so I'm gonna put an ad in the paper just incase the guy does live around here, or if there's another Tiger close by (hey, they gotta be somewhere, why not here). And so that's how the quest is going. I'll own a Tiger someday, I'm determined.

Three/Fourwheeler Action or Dirt Wheels had a test on a Tiger 500 with the Rotax 500 motor in it back in 1985. I can remember the picture exactly. All the plastic was white and the tires on the back were Carlisle Trail Pro's. I believe that issue had a 1985 Tecate jumping on the cover. Does anyone have this issue??
