Figured I'd put some valuable info into one thread so all the newbies and senior members alike have somewhere to source some good info. I've taken info from both sites and some from my own experience.

Heres a search I did on .ORG:

http://www.3wheeler.org/vb/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=52128&sortby=&sortorder=

The bigbore piston for the Tecate measures 295cc and is from a twin cylinder twostroke watercraft. The bore size is 76mm and the piston part number is (ill fill it in in the morning when i look at my wiseco catalogue)

Some other things that can be done to the 84/85 are listed here in the JWR Racing handbook which you can find here:

http://www.files.3wheelerworld.com/Manuals/JWR1.pdf

This covers most of the mods like moving the gas tank back for more steering lock, using 84 hubs to run 8inch wheels, carb specs, the KX cylinder swap, gearing options and so on.

On another note the 83' Tank from a KX 250 fits onto the KXT frame. It uses KX 250 mounting hardware. The frame uses a stock KXT style mount welded into the upper top portion of the frame. The KX tank uses the Tecate's rubber hold-down on the rear portion. Very easy to duplicate, and no tank interference when the stops are ground from the triples.

Aftermarket and stock parts arent that hard to find for all generation Tecates like some people like to think. Only a select few items like number plates, UFO airboxes, extended swingarms and axles, as well as older aftermarket pipes other than the DG are hard to find.

Here is the site I use to buy aftermarket parts for the 84/85:

http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/mmy.jsp;jsessionid=XIWQHSC2W0QV5LA0WTISM4VMDK0NCIV 0?store=Main&catId=1&make=32&model=1856&year=1985&redirect=true&exec=true&add=true&_requestid=123950

Here is the site again for the 86/87:

http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/mmy.jsp;jsessionid=XIWQHSC2W0QV5LA0WTISM4VMDK0NCIV 0?store=Main&catId=1&make=32&model=1856&year=1986&redirect=true&exec=true&add=true&_requestid=124200

I'll add as I search more but anyone who wants add what you know. :D
