Ive decided not to get a 200x. I would like one but I need a heavy duty unit to use and maybe down the line ill get a 200x if I can find one.
Anyways to the question-
What would you fine experts of 3 wheelers do to a 1985 200s 3 wheeler to give it more power all around? and how much and where it can be found(preferably Canadian so I dont have border)
This S has big mudding/floating tires on it too, so ill be using her for mud as well and normal driving.
Thanks alot for your help and you guys are great!

If you don't really want a 200x, you can borrow a few parts from them :D The head from the 200x has larger air fins and will help cool quite a bit better. You can also use a 200x carb and intake, get a web or white bros cam shaft, And if your up to it, a high compression piston in the 10.5:1 flavor from Wiseco. I'll warn you though, its not fun to pull one of those over much and you'll probably have problems with the rope breaking.
The 200x stuff can be found second hand, and the Camshaft, and Piston you can probably get through anyone that is a parts unlimited dealer, or someone who is a dealer for Wiseco pistons and White Bros or Web camshafts.

i had an 1985 200s i supped it up partially what I did to it was I put a racing camshaft out of dennis kirk, new cam chain out of dennis kirk, new carb kit with bigger gets and things out of dennis kirk, i pulled the spark arrestor out of the muffler, had it ported and polished, thats pritty much all i did, it gave tons of more low end tourque, and a it more topend speed, and sounded awesome.

Dammit!

Sounds like you'd really enjoy a 250sx. Those are nice all around trikes to keep in mind if you happen to spot a good deal on one.
You got me wondering though. I've heard of people putting S engines in an X chassis to have an auto X, but has anybody ever done the opposite and put the X engine in the S chassis and had a manual 200s? That would be kinda cool.

smokinp- I do have stock sprockets, if you look at my signature' thats what I think im going to do.
If I ever found a 200x I would get it, but I dont have alot of money right now and it would be cheaper for me to fix up my S then to buy a new unit altogether, the 200s may not be the best, sporty, unit of there, but its mine!
although I would like a sporty unit!

It would be cool if you modified the s frame and put a 350x engine in it!

you could do that?, a 350x motor/engine in a 200s frame that would be awesome! why would you do that?a 350x engine would not fit without huge frame modifactions and even if you could get it in then you have a really fast trike with no suspension...

Yeah really. That would be like bouncing death. :Bounce
A 200x engine seems doable though. I always prefered manual clutches in the mud (well everywhere really).

Thanks for the help guys...Ive started to rebuild my 200s motor and I am going to port and polish, clean carb and a new exhaust system for more all around power. And yes a 350x engine in a 200s frame is well... like damnit said "bouncing death" lol

hey guys, ive gone to the dark side(maybe) lol. Im looking at buying a yamaha blaster, but there is a 200x in my paper for 650 so i might call about and it runs but the guy says it needs work. The only thing im worried about is that the blaster is a 2 banger, anyways the old S is pooched. The timing chain was rubbing and metal shavings were getting everywhere and eventually the connecting rod welded itself to the crank. So there goes that idea, but a 200x is nice. Im worried about trails though, all my friends have big utility units and they can fly through trails, its hard with a 3 wheeler. But ill try, 3 wheelers are just so much fun but blasters are so nice too, I cant decide, ill post later to tell everybody what ive done.
dude get the 200x you will FLY by the guys on the Utility quads in the woods...

let us decide for u...get the 200x..and all u need for the s that locked up is a new crank and rod and while trailprotrailpro in there id get new bearings for it..u could just get a new bottom end all together from a scrap yard if u can find one! most of them actually work people jsut either dont have money or dont know how to fix stuff
