I've done it again. Every dang trike I get has gold wheels.
Luckily this one has the same bolt pattern on the front as my old 200x. So, that one's gone. Now I just need some 9" rears.
Any body want some gold wheels? We have lot's of the stupid things laying around! They all have good tires!

I've always wanted to try gold wheels on my SX... I doubt the wheels would clear the brake drum on the SX though.

I know for a fact that an old honda trx250 utility quad will not accept 8 inch wheels. Im sure that quad has the same drum brake as the sx and big red.

no not necessarily, the sx uses 8 inch rims. My dad has a gold rim up front on his bike, I have never tried it in the rear but that gives me the incentive to do so...

That'd be the stock'rs for sure then. I heard that the stock (cast) rims R way more stout than the aftermarket (spun) rims... I know that the 9 in'rs that came on my 85R ARE the thickest rims I've ever seen & R sit'n in my garage with a pile of other Damn Ugly Gold RIMS!!!
I'm kinda saving em though for a plan someday...... ;)

hehe, I like gold rims, but its nice have a few extra sets of douglas wheels, for an updated look, but if you hate the gold rims so much, turn them into silver rims instead... its easy. Get some good heavy duty oven cleaner, and spray it on the wheels, and let it sit for a few minutes, scrub it with some steel wool, (wear rubber gloves and do this outside or in a well ventilated area!) rinse the wheel thouroghly(sp?) with water, and repeat until silver... it may take a while, but it should work, given that the wheels you have are not clearcoated or anything. HM (I learned this trick while polishing some Porsche wheels for my VW(forged aluminum wheels with black anodizing))

I love gold rims, I'm actually planning on buying some used ones for my 400ex.
