This F#@$%% big red is pissin me off. I just went in the garage to fire it up, ( i do that a few times a week, just because, and let it warm up, ride around the house a few times and park it, keeps it regular !! LOL )
I just checked the oil and it's just marking the stick, barely, it was at the top fill line before i left yesterday, mind you we rode 130km's, hard, but it was not taking oil before.
Despite the fact that it's running like crap, i still want to salvage the old beast.
What can it potentially cost me to have it totally overhauled, i'm talking new, oversized piston, re-bore cylinder, check cam and valves, replace if needed, etc....... the whole works.
oh. and can anyone tell me if a used/worn out coupling ( the part that connects the engine to the shaft drive, joint thingy ) if worn badly enough, can it cause power loss at high speed ? i found that yesterday it would run ok on 1st, 2nd, somewhat ok on 3rd, but 4 and 5th geer require flat ground, and lots of revs, and at top speed the engine would kinda cut out like the governer on a car ! VRRfrrrrVRRrrrr VRrrr.. suxx..
