Well I just registered today and I love it here, I have a 200s and its pretty awesome but I killed it a few weeks ago. Anyways I was thinking of getting a Yamaha Blaster, but then my brother slapped some sense into me, its a 2 stroke and I dont want that lol.
So I have decided to get another 3 wheeler and then fix my S and sell it for money towards a new unit. Or....

I could fix the S and use it, but I sorta want back suspension. So I was thinking about the 200x and then selling my S for money towards it.
They seem pretty nice and reliable are the 200x's?,
I beat my machines pretty hard
lol Im trying to stop.

and I wanted to know what you would do in my predicament?

I'd get a 200x or 350x, they are very under-rated machines, good, and very reliable-honda 4-stroke speaks for itself, they run well in winter as well (especially 200x's), so I'd go for that. As for the danger element, 1 wheel, 2, 3, or 4 how you ride means so much more.

Thats a good poem!

thanks for the advice, I think I am going to buy a 200x, and I think im going to trade my 200s for it

What's your height and weight? If you're over 6 feet tall you might consider the 350x.

Im about 5,6 and about 155 pounds. I really like the back suspension and the manual trany, but anyways im<

200x sounds about perfect for you. Find one and have fun this winter. :TrikesOwn

Do you have one Dammit?

Im pretty sure but are the 200x reliable, and manual trany is that reliable too?

And I hope I can trade/sell my 200s soon for one.
But now I just need to fix the S-

and im 5,6 and 168 pounds, i really should weigh myself more often lol

200x will be perfect for you, they are tailor made for a guy your size. They are super reliable, will start first kick in minus 20, and the trans is great too, they were dirtwheels magazines favourite trike! As for I guy my size, I could ride one, but I'm 6,2 169, so I'd opt for a 350x, but I'd buy either given the chance.

alright thanks, I think im might sell my S for parts asap, then buy a 200x,

Ive also noticed that a 1986 is a six-speed, should I try to find a 86' or say screw it and buy a lesser year with only a five speed?

Pistonhead

I'm not to sure there, but I'd opt for the 86 because its my favourite 200x year.

A 1985 200x was the first trike I ever owned. Got it brand new in 1984. Sold it a few years later to buy my R that I still have today.

Well maintained they're extremely reliable, like pretty much all Honda engines. It all depends on how well you (and the previous owners) take care of it though. They are 20 years old now after all. I was only 11 when I got mine and did have a couple of problems with it initially but they were my own fault. I ran it out of oil and fried the piston rings. Had to have the dealer fix that but they did a crap job and it wasn't the same until I learned to do it myself (rebuilt it for the first time when I was 13). Ran like a dream once I took over doing all the work on it myself. Wasn't long before I started doing race modifications to it. It was a runner. None of the local 200x owners could keep up with me.

Manual transmissions are very reliable and fairly simple. Odds are if you have any trouble it would only be with the clutch which is easy to rebuild.

At 168 pounds you might end up wanting to stiffen up the rear shock a bit if you like to jump.

Once the new career starts paying dividends, I plan to get a couple more trikes. A 200x will definitely be one of them. So many found memories. Eventually I hope to own my R, a 200x, 350x and a Tri-Z. Kinda ridiculous to have that many but... SO WHAT GIMME GIMME GIMME!!!! :D :D :D

The 1986 is definitely nicer. More refined. The suspension is noticably better. That's actually the biggest improvement imo.

HOWEVER!

There are TONS more 1983 through 1985 models out there (parts are interchangable between those years) so part availability is MUCH better for those models. That said, if I were to find a nice 1986 I'd buy it in a second. :beer

Thanks alot Dammit and Pistonhead,
I think im going to fix my 200s, then sell/trade asap for a 200x. It really doesnt matter to me a 5 or 6 speed, Im usually never going full speed. All i want is a torquey unit, manual and is a 3wheeler and I think the 200x is right for me, thanks guys and this site is awesome!

if I can find a 86 ill take that in a second!

I say the same thing dammit, after I get into the engineering business and get some nice cashflow, I'm going to take in trikes and cars/trucks like the pound takes in stray dogs, why? Simply because I love them and because I can!!!! Oh Kintore, in my local paper in Alberta theres an 86 200x for 1200, I called and its in nice shap but I dont got the money now, if you want I can PM you the phone #

Trikes are a blast, wether its a 70 or a tecate, I just love to ride, After a long time of not riding I'll hop on and just go like stink and have a hell of a time, and I'll find myself saying, I can't believe I forgot how much fun this is! I see it in my friends too, they will go without riding for a year or 2 then one day they'll hop on and by the end of the day they'll be giddy like a kid going into a toy store for the first time, except like a kid with 2 inches of mud all over himself!!!!!

By the way, if you jump a 200x about this high, the stock muffler falls off. lol

why not buy a 200X chassis and put the 200s engine in it?

Kintore
10-24-2004, 07:53 AM
just the engine? I thought they both were 200cc? or do you mean like tranny-manual or auto?

Kintore

I think im going to just sell my 200s when its fixed, or trade it for a 200x. I want one before winter so I can rip it up! lol

Yah I think I hear a echo too,

all i got to say is the 200x is very sweet bike. it ran still when aluminum shavings porred out when i drained the oil. o and 2 thrust washers came out too. needless to say it still ran. lil weeker tho but still ran. u cant kill them!!!!!!

Kintore

WOW! thats awesome, Im going mudding at my place soon and I wanted to know, I saw that the 200x doesnt have a chain guard/sheild to protect it from mud and crap like that. Will I be able to go mudding with no shield?

I think it is a fine looking threewheeler but i think u need to rejust the lower flywheel it will give u more torque and soften the back shocks for sure but uv done agreat job keeping care oh her , but when are u going to buy it!!lol

you must have different luck with your 200x than i do. i blew the skirt off of the piston and the cylinder and locked it up damn tight. it was so tight i weigh 300lbs and i stood on the kicker and it wouldnt budge. so now im rebuilding it and puttin a powroll 218cc kit in it

Wow! I would like to know where everybody is finding these reliable 200x's also. Because mine has been anything but. Yes, I know all about honda's reliablility and would buy another one in a minute. But this one I have now must of had a real tough life.

Thats a good poem!

**thats a great poem. as a matter o fact, last year in enlish class we were asked to find a poem we liked, and write what we liked about the authors ideas..well lets just say i got a n A+!!!!

anyways...the 200x and 350X are killer machines...personally if i was you i would get the 350--especially if you like to beat them :naughty: :naughty:
the 200x can take a beatin too...but on the 350 you can just go faster :w00t:
