250r Brake Hub Removal??

need some help......anyone got any HELPFUL information and or tips to removing my brake hub?? this thing has not been taken off in many moons. it has been sprayed with liquid wrench for a few days now and no movement at all. please guys, hit me with all the USEFUL info you got. thanks, GREG

Heat it once and let it cool, this will break any rust then heat it again and see if you can get it to move with a hammer. You might want to have a buddy help, someone to keep it hot while you try to work it off. Don't hit it real hard while its hot, you may bend it out of shape.

I have the same bike, but what do you mean when you say brake hub? front or rear, the rotor?(disc) the caliper (the part that holds the pads on the rotor). I know for a fact that you must use a reputable brand of tool i.e. Snap-on or Craftsman, Matco and so on, becaue alot of tool makers can make them cheaper because the tollerances of the sizes are looser. I don't know where your trikes been, but if you use the right tool or breaker bar, you'll get it off. Heating and cooling the parts will have little effect when the parts are together because its hard to heat one and cool the other simultaneously. I guess I don't have to tell you that everything is metric? I know our Rs have a brake pad pin freezing problem, so if you do get them off use anti-seize when you re-assemble for the future. Are you also trying to remove the axle, if so you can kill 2 birds with one stone, as you tapp the axle out it will remove the rotor at the same time. If thats what you are trying to do let me know and i will explain it alittle more in depth.

If you have everything off and it still won't move (everything being the big axle nut and lock nut, the retaining ring and the clip on the axle: you should see just the splines on the axle and the hub itself) pounding the axle out is probably the best way to get it off. Take both hubs off the axle and take the chain off. Then get a block of wood and a big hammer and try and drive the axle out from the right side. The hub will stay in place while the axle moves out toward the sprocket side. Hope this helps.
