Wondering what the 85 Tecate makes stock? If I had that number I could wager a guess as to what my mods have given me HP wize. I'm thinking mid 30's with all my new parts. Anyone?

cool so 31 +3 pipe +3 reedcage +2 filter +1 wiseco piston = 40. So about 40 with all that, wicket. With a 295cc big bore and porting it should be pushing 50?

that is a nice thought but it does not work like that, i would think you would be in the 37 hp range...the 300 is probably about 35hp. I know that the full on 85 national motors made aroung 43-48 hp, that with kx250 cylinders(which add about 5 hp stock to stock) major port jobs, big carbs and pipes and such. what you need to understand it that 1 hp increase on a 250 is a good solid gain. also these high hp motors usually have the power delivery of a bomb, making them very hard to ride well. that was why the 250r was so great, it had good smooth power delivery

Bit much eh? lol. 37 is quite a large gain on such simple mods, cant complain about that.

What do you mean by the 300 is probably around 35 HP? Do you mean that with a 300 cc bore and piston I'd be making 35 without my mods? So add 4hp to my modded hp number = 41?

you can't just add horsepower like that. the 300 will make a good deal more horspower than a 250. but it depends on the mods you have. a pipe will wake a 300 up more than a 250. a big carb as well

Thanks, I'm beginning to understand how this works. Gonna have to find a dyno that will let me run on it. lol
