I"m readin the manual and one part is not entirely clear.

the tensioner has 2 bolts, the top one and the lover one ( under the rubbr boot )

I thought the top nut was just to secure the bottom one from slipping, but it has a blurb about inserting a centre punch or other small screw driver into the hole after removing the top bolt to push on the tensioner and then to lock the top nut to 11-15ft lbs.

I would think that when you remove the punch from the hole the tensioner would return to it's original position and make the whole thing useles..

this make any sense to any of you ???

To adjust you loosen the lower one when the engine is running then tighten it, it adjusts automaticaly. The top bolt is so you can loosen the lower bolt put the punch in and then tighten the lower bolt, this forces the adjuster to loosen the chain all the way this is for putting in the cam and cam chain gear. If you remove the punch before tightening up the lower bolt then yes it would do nothing.
