FYI.
Quote:
" This adjustment pertains only to the manual clutch; the centrifugal clutch requires no adjustment.
The clutch free play should be checked and adjusted every 30 days of operation.
Since there is no clutch cable, the mechanism is the only component requiring adjustment. This adjustment takes up slack due to clutch component wear.
1. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster screw COUNTERCLOCKWISE until SLIGHT resistance is felt, then STOP, ( located on right side of case. while siting on bike , i wish i could post the picture !! )
2. From this point, back out the adjuster screw CLOCKWISE as follows:
a. ATC 185 - 1/8 turn clockwise
b. all other models : 1/4 turn clockwise
3. Tighten the locknut
Note: Make sure the adjuster screw does not move when tightening the locknut.
4. After adjusting is completed, check that the locknut is tight
5. Test ride the ATC and make sure the clutch is operating correctly. Readjust if necesary.
ROB.. note the 1/8th turn on the 185 !!!!! not 1/4.
