86 kxt restoration questions

I just picked up an 86 tecate, I need some misc parts. Decals, gas Tank rear shock. Are these still available somewhere? If not what do you guys do?

Well, they sell everything you want on ebay regularly. i have a gastank, but it is faded, no petcock or gast cap. look at this link about the shock, you might want to upgrade

Wow, from the looks of that Tecate you wont have much work ahead of you to restore that bike.

I want a nice 86/87 to drop either a KX450 fourstroke or a nicer KX500 twostroke motor in it, some 84 Tecate hubs, wheel spacers, 18 inch Turf Tamers, nice Cal-Fab swinger or custom unit, up a tooth in the front, clamp on foam filter, etc etc...leave nothing stock.

The 01 Raptor shock fits, there is a nice one on eBay right now.

man, you aren't going to find a better tank than that. I wouldn't sell you my tank if you wanted it, lol. I really like that trike, they look great completely stock.

Try phoning CEET for a gas tank cover, according to NICKG they still make a leather gas tank cover to match your green plastics. If you get one let me know.
Your tank looks great, little fadded yes but no scratches.
