View Full Version : Plan for the ATC90..suggestions welcom
well i have decided what im gona do with my 1978 atc90, i will be switching the motor out with a CT90 motor, the advantages of the ct90 is for 1 i have one sitting on my bench with new valves, piston and stuff,2 its kick start..no more pissin around with recoile starters yay :D ,3 i will be able to run a bigger light in the front if i need to....or i can switch stators out of thr atc and just run normal..not sure what im gona do with that yet :D, i will be getting a DG RCM pipe for it,k&n filter, and a webcamshaft..gona strip to the frame and snadblast+powedercoat it gloss black, the fender will be re-fiberglassed and powdercoated with a new seat,i have to find a new tank that has less dents to repaint LOL :D new front fender, thinking about puttiing a set of renthal style handel bars with a twist grip on it..if i can find some that fit properly..getting ITP polishd rims..with the big ol original style knobbies to top it off..any suggestions this is what i plan on doing this winter..for a project :D like to hear peoples thoughts and suggestions :D :TrikesOwn :beer

How about some wheel spacers and white flames on a red tank? Are you getting a aluminum RCM pipe? Sounds good to me.

You might want to look for some new or lightly used fenders, because plastic melts when it gets hot you can't powercoat them. Is the kickstart front or rear swinging? If it is rear swinging then make sure it will clear the rear fenders, it must stink having to take off your rear fenders whenever you want to start your trike! Good luck!

sounds like it'd be pretty sweet your gonna have to snap some pics of how it looks now and keep us posted til it's finished, those ct90 engines are they auto clutch or manual?Manual would be sweet you'd have a little more playing power...
ahh..lucky me my fenders are fiberglass..so i think i should be able to powedercoat them and if not i will paint em up nice..i was just looking and it looks like i will have to just keep the atc90 bottem end ..becuse the kick starter wont clear the fenders..no biggie..there both auto clutchs...the dg rcm unfounatly isnt krome, its flat black..but im gona try and get it nickel plated :) i will get some pics snaped when i start this..thanks for the ideas :D

we're from Alberta, so it probably wont be a maple leaf! I agree with the jockey shift idea, and if you wanted renthall fatty bars you'll need a new bar bracket set. I agree with the kicker start, those recoils are a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro to start in -20. You could flame it or have it camo. Even better would be a confederate flag and orange paint, like a general lee trike!
well i was just thinking about the paint on the tank...i think i might have a maple leaf that go's into a sort of flame..with flames on the fenders...yea it is a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro in -20 with the recoil..lol thats the main reason for it..i might rig it so i have both kick and recoil..just gota switch some cases around :D

I hate trying to start the big red in -20 when the battery dies, it'll take 1/2 hour +!
mhmm..my 200 dosnt like starting even in the weather where havin now..takes quite a few pulls..but the worst was last year when i had 15w40 oil in my atc 90..man that was a slug to start LOL

Or when you put gas in it and it floods! The good thing is I can keep my trikes in my shop so its not as bad, but before the shop it was hopeless to get them started in winter.
