ok sometimes when we are riding trails and stop to take pictures or what ever my bike wont have any tention on the rope. If i pull on it alot there still will be no tention. But if i wait maybe 10 minits or so and pull the cord it will have tension and will start. i find that it does this more say when it dies on it's own like going down a steep incline. but it happened 5 times yeaster day. i was wonderng if there was a heat switch or a tip swith associated with this problem and if so how wouold i by pass it? by the way it is either a 200m or a 200s motor in an 84 20x frame . thaks in advance im so frustrated.

no,there is on switch that turns on by the heat,I would take the pull start and rewind it.How long is the rope?I would try shorting it...

Take the recoil off, remove the cover and check the 3 starter ratchets and springs. They may just be gunked up.That wouldn't have anything to do with heat though.

i would take the pull starter apart and clean the re-coil spring. make sure that everything is lubed good.
