Hey guys a got a buddie here in town thats parting out his 04 crf 450 and he told me i could have the motor cheap really cheap not mention the price yet. but im thinking of building a trike for a winter project. What do you guys think would be the best choice of a chassis

the 250r allready has the radiator mounts, and if they can put it in a 250r quad why not a trike.

I'd start with the crf frame and mod from there.

i'd go with the 250R i dont think you'll need the extra room with the CRF being water cooled.

Start with the CRF frame and build from there, would be so cool. But if thats too expensive I'd go with a 350X frame. Use a 400EX swinger and use the CRF subframe to mount your fenders/everything else.

Motoman are you still selling the 110? I asked a while ago but i did not have a way of getting it. But i have a enw truck and also alot of family in southern illinois, could throw in a yamaha big wheel rolling chassis with motor

i think putting a crf engine in a trike is stupid ! their is just too much raw power their for trying to woods ride it! now if it was drag trike only go for it!

LOL! Sorry if it's too much power for you but I'd handle it just fine. :TrikesOwn

i could handle one also...that would be a sweet idea. 350x's just dont got enough power. now dont get me wrong, they have a lot, but i would like a trike with some more

I'd go with the 250R frame. Its made alot stronger than a 350x frame, plus its got prolink and is already water cooled. If the 450r frame isn't too messed up I'd get that too in case you needed to do some cross breeding.

Same here only it'll be a KX450 Kawasaki motor into my 85 Tecate or an 86/86 Tecate.

why would you get a good laugh????? i think it would fit in very nicely,,, i put a cr500 in mine and it was easy,,, so why would you get a laugh out of this??????

the 450 doesn't have anywhere near as much power as the 500 so it would not in any way be over powered or hard to ride,,,, i think itr would be a step in the right direction,,,,, twice as much lowend as a 250r and a little more topend would make it a awesome woods trike. better suspension than a 350x lighter more nimble eaiser to handle ,,,,,,,,, no mixin gas anymore hmmmmm i see NO drawbacks at all ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
oh by the way fox we were at spinreel for 4 days i was waitin for my riding lessons,,, where were you????? :D :D :D
