We had a literally a brand new ATC 200, sold it for $800 in 1997, and i thought that was high for something with no shocks or reverse and just a pull start.

I'm glad trike prices are going up. They have some value to the public now. I'm talking about the clean ones.

the only reason they went up is because a couple lucky guys got big cash out of there machines, and every owner saw this, and thought "wow, im gonna sell mine now", and they put theres on ebay with that reserve price, and then the next people did that, etc etc etc.. thats why alot of them wont sell, because everyone wants way to much, they saw a couple go for big money and thats what they expect, the problem is, theres alot more smart buyers with a buget, then there is dumb buyers with a huge wallet <- why they dont get what they want out of it.

Hey you live in the same area as me, did you see that 350x go for 1700 during the summer? I called the guy about it and it sounded like it was in pretty good shape. I'm always checking the bargain finder for trikes, I find the Edmonton one has more trikes than the Calgary one.

wow, you really have to see the Red Deer Advocates classifieds. There is a 1984 Suzuki 50 selling for $1,000, now thats overpriced. Oh, and I also seen that TRX250 for $7,000, but there have been many like it for around that same price. There was also an older modded raptor going for $10,000. See, that Is why I bought that Z from the states, because $650 + shipping was still less than the $2000 price tags on allmost every Z up here in Alberta. I also remember seeing a 110 with new plastics go for $1200.

my one 250sx was $500. That I didn't think was a bad price for a 250 and my other one was about 3 times as much, $1300. But I can't complain the $1300 will pop wheelies anywhere anytime.

It seems that ALL decent trikes (other than 250R's....they're pretty scarce) around here get advertised for $1000 or best offer.
That's how I got my 350X: $1000 or best offer ad, waited out the seller for two weeks and got it for $700 cash.
There were two trikes in the weekend paper: One 250SX for $1K OBO (I'm waiting him out, too :)) and one 350X for $1K OBO (sold).

For a shitty beat down one you'll spend 50-300 bucks. Cleans one shouldnt be sold cheap. Its like a well taken care of quad going for cheap, just because its 10 years old. I think condition would play a big role.

Job=more money=better trike

Also the buyers that dont get what they want out of there trike complete, they end up parting them out. ;)

There is a guy here in Arkansas trying to sell his 85-86 250r for $5000. I've watched his ads for well over a year now in the local paper. It's not even a mint bike.Got a lot of aftermarket stuff on it.

What somebody wants for something in a paper, and what it will actually sell for are two different things. By the way, TRX250R prices have not gone up, but have instead tanked, big time.

What do you need sand dunes for? A trx250r is a great quad for tons of stuff. I see a lot of high dollar trx250r's too but either they have $8000 in chassi parts or they are just over priced and won't sell. TimSr is dead on here, since the new age of performance quads they aren't pulling what they used to.

250R's are awesome LOOKING and performing bikes....if a person can find one that hasn't been anhilated from years of abuse and neglect. :(

The new breed of hi-po quads is just plain revolutionary.
BUT.....for those of use who don't want to plunk down $6000, the trikes fit PERFECTLY.

Maybe the 250R's will be a bit more "hot" when the 2 stroke ban goes into effect 12/06?
That is...if there are any left worth saving by then? :(

I LOVE my trike! :beer

I was supposed to be getting a 85 black and red Tri-Z from a guy down in Minnesota, but it's been four weeks and now the cops are taking care of it. So who is selling that one for $1500? As long as it is in Alberta I would be interested. That 86 Z in the link below, is in the town right next to me and I allready offered him a car for trade and he refused. He said he would only trade for a powerboat or something(which is a little greedyish if you ask me). Anyways, If I never get that Z from "Scott", then I will offer that guy with the 86, $1600 or if "my trike *****" gives me some info on the one for $1500, then I might look at that one also.

I kinda hate this boost in Trikes selling all over. I liked it better when Trikes where rare, and no one really wanted one. Now EVERYONE wants one, and now prices are going through the roof and the only place where I can buy a non-overpriced trike is down in Minni-fricking-sota.

BTW, here (http://buysell.com/results.asp?id=4734&id=4736&SUBMIT1=Browse+Ads&r=25&i=474) is the site that contains all of these "overpriced" trikes.

BTW, I call shotgun on the Z :D (thats if I never get the one from the A-hole down south...."scott" from minnesota...I mean.....hehe).

There are suprising numbers of old trikes kickin around the country side, I dont know if any of you guys from Alberta have been by that equity grain elevator by Trochu, but that guy has a really nice 250es sitting outside his seriously big house. I went to a yard sale and the guy had a nice tri moto 125 for 500 and a really clean honda hawk for 750. I've seen lots of guys riding trikes around the ditches and fields especially in winter.
