Hey guys I just got my 1982 yamaha trimoto 175 done...the top end was done for me by a shop. I brought the rebored top end home and put it all together just like she came apart..put in a brand new spark plug and tried to start it....no luck! I keep trying to get it going but she just won't take. The spark plugs are coming out wet after trying to get it going. It did start once for about 5 seconds and then again nothing. I am lost and getting pretty fed up. I now have two non running trikes in my garage and hunting season is comming up. Help me out!!!!

I finally got it started after letting it sit overnight...must have been flooded. Started it and ran it for a while to start breaking in the new top end and it started idleing erratically. Found out I have a leaking intake boot after running it for 15 minutes...must have been what fried the top end in the first place. How long does it take to do damage to an engine sucking in air? Will it be fine now or should I take it apart again to check the rings? My guess is it is still fine but what do I know. I sure hope I don't have to go through that again.

I'll get back to you when I get the intake leak fixed. With the leak it was running good except for the eratic idle, went for a quick test run (before I realized it was sucking in air) and she had a ton of jam. Can't wait to get it fixed and broken in.
