i have just put a 200 engine in my 200x frame and i dont have the 200x intake boot so if i use the one off the regular 200 engine it will hit the frame and i will not be able to run a air cleaner, so i just mounted the carberator directly to the head and we cleaned the carb but it will only start on choke and will only run for about a minute then it stalls and dies out, just wondering what my problem with my carb would be??????????????

you need a intake boot off a 200x or xr 200,I WOULD NOT run my trike without one.

im not running an intake manifold becouse i dont have one that fits properly so i bolted the carb directly to the head and now it doesnt run for longer than a minute or too then it dies out

i'd think that carb must get pretty hot stuck directly to the cylinder !!!
after 1 minute she overheats the carb and quits running..
or i might just be full of trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro.. i'm no machanic... that part has to be there for a reason tho !

is the thing that your missing metal or plastic. if it is metal, you could try putting the intake manifold into the oven and then shaping it and stretching it on the the carb.it may work

with the carb leaning slightly when attached stright to the motor the jets cannot get proper fuel flow. The boot also gives you heat dissipation so the carb does not get too hot. Not meant to run without the boot.
