After many years of searching I have found a brand new, never ridden 1985 atc 200x. It is being shipped as we speak. It was out of the crate and quite dusty, especially around areas that have grease. I have some photos but don't know how to post them. This will be an excellent edition to my 1985 atc 250r which is all stock and in showroom condition. I won't be riding these, they are the beginning of my collection. Now I need to find an 83 atc 185s in similar condition. That will be very hard!

That is amazing, who had it? a dealer or collector or someone who just never got around to riding it? Just curious, thats a rare gem indeed!!!!!

If I were a wealthy man, I'd make you an offer you couldn't refuse for that bike. Looking at those pics takes me back to the night I brought my first bike home. Brand new, '85 200x.

LMFAO!!! YES!!! Great one Dammit!

If I had that trike I can honestly say it would almost never be riden and it would never see bad weather. That is the true meaning of mint and is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time.

Great find!!!! Do you mind telling us what you paid for it? I've been eyeing a mint 200s here locally. tires still have the lines on them. I don't know why, but the 200s is my favorite ATC. Its stellar these trikes are out there with no hours and MINT. Congrats!

I also love the 200s for the simple reason that there sooo basic it's a pretty cheap and easy maintence trike,i'm just curious but whats the price tag on that S you posted?

BLAZERONE22
09-12-2004, 12:42 AM
The guy wants $1300.00 for it. Not bad considering what people spend on restoring their trikes, including myself lol. I think I have around 1100.00 into the 82R and its probally only worth half that. lol.

rob0781

Wow if i could find an "S" like that i'd show him $1000 cash and see if he wants to make a deal..

Hey..

Ask that guy if he wants to get rid of that ATC cover and the lil 81/82 250R thing behind the 200X in that second pic. I know someone that can make us some ATC covers if I had one to use as a templete. I also know some vinyl sign people that'd be able to put the 'ATC' on the covers too. I just need one to use as a templete.

I say part the thing out on ebay .....NOT. What you need to do is buy another 200X to ride and go crazy on so you won't ride the new one.

Keep it in a glass bubble or put it on display at the Smithsoian Motorcycle musiem.

HOLLY CRAP,, that is sweet, detail it and cover it, preferably in low humidity. I have a 350X as nice as that and it is in an air conditioned shed. I completely drain the tank and carb, Some people will disagree with that, but I have had good luck for 10 years like that. If there is rust in the tank at all you will have to keep it full. But when you do deciede to take it out for a glory run(and you should a couple times a year at least) drain the old gas out of the tank and carb and refill fresh. Don't ride it offrode to much, keep it on the pavement,, I know that sounds weird but I am speaking from experience. A few rides in the dirt will take that shine rite off those beautiful stock rear fenders,,, tires can be replaced. Every month or so just lift the cover and push the kick starter over a few times to move things around and let the valve springs take a different position, and turn the gas to the on position to keep the carb full of gas . If the petcock is off to long your carb will completely dry out and you will have problems.
Welcome to the garage queen club, only YOU will get the enjoyment of owning it, when most people see my show girl, they ask, what are you saving it for ? And you know, I don't know, its just artwork to me. It's the same as owning an expensive painting. Congratulations on a rare find.

Put it rite in middle of the freaking living room for a while, invite some buddies over and sit around it and have a few beers. :)

Yep.... me and a past member here are looking to find an Hondaline ATC Cover to make some of our own. He has a friend who's a seamstriss (sp) and I know a place that can do the printing. Might have a cover lined up with someone else already, still waiting to hear back from my friend. If not, would you be interested in selling or 'loaning' your cover to us Glass?

thanks,

i'll throw this in just because i think some of you may appreciate this. My neighbor and i went and looked at a big red last spring. the trike was toasted so i snuck a peak in his grage and saw a nice 350X. i asked if it was for sale, but it wasn't. he said he bought it off a lady whose son bought it new and got killed in a car accident a week after he boguht it. this x had 0 hours on it, and i could have eaten off the motor if i wanted to. It was as clean as the 200X that started this thread. My neighbor offered this kid $3000 and the guy turned it down. man, i wish i had that trike.
Another story that this reminds me off is my dad's friend has a brand new, never run late 80's yamaha YSR sitting in his living room. this is even cleaner than the 350X i saw. it still has the plastic bags over the muffler and seat. i also wish i had this one, althogh i dont know what i would o with it, lol. just thought i'd share those with everyone

I paid $2500. I also have a 250r that I paid 3500 for. Both are in the same condition. Yes that is alot of money, but I am buying these for personal reasons, not to ride them, although I would love to. I grew up on atc's and I have fond memories and I love just looking at them and re-living my youth in that way. It is nice to own a piece of history. I never liked restoring stuff. I get way more enjoyment out of owning something that has never been touched, even if it has a couple blemishes.Particuarly because they will never be made again. As far as finding it, I saw it in an online ad, sorry no special story , Just a guy who wanted to get rid of it. It was not even auto related just a local classified ad.

No I did not get it off e-bay. The UPS guy has been a great help with letting me know about people who have them. He sees everyones yard and sometimes the inside of their garage. He gave me the adress of a guy and he wanted to sell it.
