today i went to go torque my clutch cover and waterpump to 20 footpounds and the bolt snaped in the clutch cover where you put the waterpump cover.

does anyone what to torque the clutch cover and waterpump cover to?

so now i am going to have to take it down to a machine shop and get it revoved for 20 bucks a hole! good thing i only broke one.

20 ft/lbs sounds like a lot for those little bolts

I would only go 10 pounds. Looked in my R manuel and that is the closest I could find.

5-8 ft/lbs of torque according to the factory shop manual.

Here's some numbers for you.

STANDARD TORQUE VALUES

5mm bolt and nut 3-4 ft/lbs
6mm bolt and nut 6-9 ft/lbs
8mm bolt and nut 13-18 ft/lbs
10mm bolt and nut 22-29 ft/lbs
12mm bolt and nut 36-43 ft/lbs

5mm screw 2-4 ft/lbs
6mm screw and 6mm bolt with 8mm head 5-8 ft/lbs
6mm flange bolt and nut 7-10 ft/lbs
8mm flange bolt and nut 17-22 ft/lbs
10mm flange bolt and nut 25-33 ft/lbs

Hope this helps ya..its straight out of my Honda factory shop manual.
