First off thanks to anyone who takes the time to read this and put in their .02 cent in.
Here’s the deal I have a R5 350cc twin cylinder piston ported two stroke. I bought this motor from a local road racer I road the bike before I bought the motor and it is STRONG!!! I did a little research on this motor and It's seems that this motor is what the RD350 motor is based upon. Well, as most of you know the RD350 is the sister engine to the Banshee motor.
My idea is I have an 84 ATC rolling chassis and I was thinking that this might be a pretty cool swap what do you think?
Also can anyone explain to me the pros and cons of a piston ported engine vrs reed valved engine?

I have never heard of an R5 but the rd 350 is the sister motor to the liquid cooled rz 350 motor . I think the R5 is a rotory motor that suzuki tried to introduce but didnt sell much .

No the R5 is the motor that the RD350 is based on. It is a Yamaha 350cc two stroke piston port motor. The RD350 is a reed valve motor.

the ozzie trike thread has a link to the ebay auction for a 250R with an RZ engine in it so i'd say its possible and would definaitly be awesome

hey, if you don't have to chop the frame too much, go for it! then you can do a review for us. If we had money, we could drop in and ride it!
