Just got her home. Too dark for pictures. I will get some tommotow and post them. Man, I just knew the guy was going to back out. Any way. Its needs a few odds and ends, but overall not to bad. Something is screwey with the carb, and it needs a throttle cable. Ok. I have a question for you 350X specialist out there. The guy said the carb needs work. He said that the brass looking pin or needle that slides up and down when you work the throttle has some problem. He said that it is real loose and the C-clip wont keep it tight or in place? Dont know. I tried to crank it with starting fluid, and it acted like it just barely, I mean barely wanted to start. Its getting real good fire. Any way the throttle cable is complete crap. It works but is skinned up real bad on the handlebars. that brass looking needle valve is that part of a carb kit, Throttle cable or just a internal part of the carb. I dont have a lot of carb experience other than cleaning and watching the old man put a kit in. I am prob going to buy a good carb from a friend. But I would like to know what the problem is. other than the carb, it needs the rear brakes completely worked over. They dont work at all. Also needs a right footpeg, all new plastic ( less the tank its good ), seat, handlebars, and rear grab bar. thats about it. Let me know what you guys think.

on the carb it sounds like the little spring metal clip that slides down the inside of the slide is gone or broke...its a simple fix just get the little clip or make one that holds down on the c clip and presses on the slide..hope i could help

I guess its not that complicated, but I have never seen the inside of this type a carb before. I have on the 110, 125, and 70. but nothing larger. I will check it out tommorow I gues. Any more tips would greatly be appreciated.

Get a carb rebuild kit. They arent to expensive and you will be better off in the long run. All the parts you mentioned come in the kit i believe. Then you will be running Smooth. :TrikesOwn

O yea congrats and get some pics in here. :beer

Congrats on the X!
As you can tell, I'm a 350X addict.

As someone said earlier...just buy a rebuild kit.
If you can't find one locally, there's someone who sells them on ebay.
It probably could use one anyway. They're CHEAP, too.
$23 including shipping.

The seller has great feedback and ALWAYS has 350X goodies on there.

As for the brakes.....
Don't laugh but....
Do you have any fluid?
My rear brakes didn't work either, when I got mine.
The resovoir was empty.
I filled it up and bled out the old crap and VOILA!
Rear brakes!! :)
Hopefully yours "fixes" that easy!

You lucky dog! :D

Hey guys, I picked up the 350X in Headland, AL. Just north of Dothan. RIght off of HWY 431 litteraly. Im asking $1400 for my XR500R. I think thats a very fair price for the shape its in. Pics will be coming tonight of the X.
