Well..

Got an old 82 atc 200, plain jane 200, no shocks, reverse, elec start.... ... ..

It needs a gas tank and a carb. oh. and a seat cover ( leaky tank, patched, but rotten real badly, and the carb is screwed, either needs rebuilding or replacing )

I figure it would cost me about 200 $ to fix up, and make a decent 2nd bike..

I have a good condition and running Big Red 200es, so the other one would be a " friends only " bike.

What can a person hope to get by parting a bike and selling e-bay style.??

the engine, trany, plastics, chain sprokets, wires etc etc etc.... all are in good shape..

Well if its in the condition i would part it out on ebay. Or i would put the motor frame and all the big parts and put them in the newspaper classifieds.

Those kind of trikes don't bring much money. IMO I dont think it would be worth the time, but to others it might be.

if you were closer i would buy it. dont part it out man. thats one less trike around(well complete) we need to keep them around. i would never part one out. just my opinion tho. do what ever you want.

I hate the thought...

If i can find a working carb, and maybe make some tank fit from something else, original tanks run for about 100 $ ( canadian ) or so.

E-bay has some deals, but shipping can be a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro, i do work for a shipping company and get a fair employee discount wich is cool tho.

I see entire bikes parted out on e-bay, 20 , 40, 14, 100 $ for this and that, seems to me it would add up nicely.

How much of these parts are interchangable ?

I'll give it an honest try, and i'll get a carb first,, then test it out with my Big red's tank to see how it will run. I'll decide what to do then..

You will have your good and bad days on ebay. Right now there are tons of Honda 200CC parts. Most people look for the best buck. I've seen pull starters go for quite a bit though.

I am wanting to sell or part out my 110. It has plenty of good usable parts. It has a 40t aluminum racing sprocket, a racing axle, and a straight through pipe. Runs good. Tires good. I am thinking of selling her for about $400. Could I make more if I parted it out? I also have a sandblated rear rack for it too.

Sadly in most cases if you really break it down you can make alot more than selling it complete. I have done a couple of motorcylces and tractors and made well over $800.00 on all of them. If I would have sold them complete I would've be lucky to get $500.00. This is a sad fact and time consuming but unfortuanetly I have more time than money and have to do what I need to get the most for my money.

Last winter I parted out a trashed 185s and made about $250-$300. I don't know if I could have gotten $200 for it complete but it did take a lot of time and several trips to the post office.

This is a funny subject. It makes me sad to see people part out an ATC, but if they weren't, parts wouldn't be dirt cheap for us.
I bought a carb from EBAY for $5! It even came with the little rubber overflow and vent tubes with the factroy clamps. :)
I have a few trikes that are not much more than frames, when time permits I am going to strip em down and keep the parts in my garage.
