Questions about a Big Red......

I have some questions about a Big Red three wheeler.....

1. What would cause it to smoke and backfire?
2. The timing has to be set right?
3. What is the adjustment screw for that is on the bottom towards the front of the carb?

1. Incorrect Jetting and/or Piston Rings........if it smokes as startup, that is not a big deal at all, That is jsut "soot" in the exhasut and oil sitting inside the cylinder.

2. Ofcourse.

Can you just replace the rings or do you have to put a new piston in to?
