I may be able to get my hands on a 110 engine. Someone on this website previously mentioned that a 110 would bolt right up to the 70 crank case if I install the 110 piston and cylinder. I may be able to get the head as well, so will I need to modify the timing chain or use a 110 specific chain to install the 110 head?

If I reuse the 70 head is it more or less a bolt in deal? Throw on the 110 piston, rings, and cylinder and go?

Be specific please, I need all the details, like others, I don't care for suprises when doing modifications. Thanks

no the crank case is differnt and you cant just put a cylinder and piston and go what you can do is get a 110 engine (the top and bottom end) and just bolt it on to the frame or even better a 125m engine would be faster

Glad you posted then, because I was under the impresson the 110 cylinder would replace the 70's without a problem. I was almost convinced that this was the origin of the 70 big bore kit, as the big bore 70 kit uses a 52mm piston as does the atc 110's 105 cubic cm engine.

125m's aren't too easy to find, at least for me.

The 70 almost hits the front fender, a 125m would probably require it to be removed or replaced, correct?

Thanks for the reply

What if I said a fella mentioned using a 110 cylinder and piston on a Z50 and it was a bolt on deal? It was in this thread http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=24817
I am assuming by the other user that a Z50 is simillar to an atc70 engine. As you can see I am getting conflicting information, some detail as to the differences would be appreciated, thanks

This ATC70 guy is on drugs. The 90 and 110 cylinders will NOT bolt up to a 70 bottom end. Everything is different. Stud pattern, piston pin size(70's and Z50's use 13mm, 90's use 14mm, 110's use 15mm), cam chain position, cylinder stud size(70's use 6mm, 90's and 110's use 8mm), case bore size. The list goes on and on. Do like the other guy says and get an ATC110 engine and you will have it in with an hours work.
