SUBJECT: THREE WHEELER PROBLEM
Dear, Rick
I have a problem with my 1985 Honda 200x three wheeler, and I was wondering if I could get your expert advice. Well my problem is that the three wheeler smokes horribly, and burns oil fast. I start out with the dipstick at the full line and within an hour of riding, the oil wont even register on the stick.
I have heard one of two things will work, either replace the piston rings or rebore and fit oversize piston and rings. I don't know if anyone of theses will help, if not then what do you recommend doing?
Thanks ahead of time for any advice.
Ricky Cambiano
P.S - Keep up the good work on your forum I enjoy reading your novice experience and advice.
My advice? Dump that wretched three wheeler and get something with either two or four wheels. In my less than humble opinion, three wheelers are dangerous junk. That aside, you have a worn out machine that desperately needs a rebuilt top end … at the very least.
