Hey, I just bought that 350X last weekend and I want to change the oil. I just ordered a reapair manual but it won't be here for a week. I had to order a Honda Facotry one becasue Clymer or any other companies don't make manuals for the 350X.
Could anyone tell me how much oil I put in for a periodic oil change and do I need a gasket for changing the oil filter. Anything else I should know. Thx, Chris

Chris,
No you don't need a gasket for the oil filter cover. Just check the o-ring to see if it's still in good shape. AS for oil,the 350 takes 2.3 liter(24.3 US qt) after disassembly.

grrrrr what size allen head do you need? and best way to free it up i have been having to pull one of the side cases and tip it over and change it that way for the last two oil changes

Xowner,
I think it's a 8mm
If your 350X still has the original tool box,it should have an allen wrench in there Chris.

I don't have the original tool box but you say it takes an allen wrench to take the oil cover off?
Also, how much oil for periodic changes. I notice you said 2.43 qrts after engine dissaseembly but how much oil in ounces or quarts does it take just draining it and pouring new back in. It should be a little less.

Little less then 2 quarts. The allen wrench takes the oil plug off/on.

I think thats another difference between the '85 and '86 350x, '85's use a allen wrench to take the drain bolt out, and a '86 is a regular hex bolt.
