Just rebuild your carb. I've heard people putting a 400ex carb onto there 350. What do you mean by missing sometimes?

its been missing right off idle for awhile.if your sitting and you gun it,it will stall out[unless you let up],other than that it s really not that bad.i heard the 40ex carb is a little bigger and has an accelerator pump?whatever that does...

My carb was doing that for a while, and it ended up being jetting. So do a plug chop, and that will tell you if your jetting is off. First off, what mods are done to it, and what jet is in it? I should be able to tell yhou if your too lean or to rich.

over the years ive tried larger, smaller jets, pilot jets, etc, and it has always had that spot off idle that will stall it out.its not that big of deal really.rarely do i gun it full bore while im sitting still, just kinda annoying..its got a supertrapp,k+n airfilter..its an 86

So you are runnin a 139 main jet, with a supertrapp, and a K&N, I'm supprised you still have your motor. You are WAY to lean. You should put a 145 main in there, and adjust the needle clip to proper throttle response.

actually its a 140 main....ive tried moving the clip both ways.nothing ever seems to change, the plug is usally dark to sooty in color.the tip of the exhaust is always carboned up..it uses no oil either.like i say,ive triedeverything over the course of many years, mainly just tinkering...its runs great dont get me wrong...its always had that miss im talking about..actually i tried a 145 ,it hardly ran, even after adjusting other things, acted like it was flooding itself out...i have a box of jets i got at the local dealers "yard sale" years ago...i paid $9 for like 15 jets!all for a kehin..which beats $4 each..thats why i continue to replace and adjust..if i had to buy each one,it would have stayed 1 larger than stock. so i guess i have 2 larger than stock
