Can't seem to get one of mybikes to run right at all. I know my problem is somewhere in the fuel area but I can't nail it down. Seemed to be running rich so I leaned it out as much as I could with the needle jet but it is still running too rich?

what does the plug look like? how big a jump did you make from the jet you had to the jet you have now?

I rebuilt the carb and set it up the OEM specs but would not run properly, plug very black so I started moving the Needle jet to a leaner setting. I got it to the leanest setting but the plug still comes out a little Black and the bike won't idle properly. This is the most progress I've made so far but still not runnign well enough to ride.

did it run good before you started workin on it? the needle doesn't affect idle either nor does it affect wide open throttle,,, sounds like the float is not sealing and loading you up....

It could be what Kasey stated, but if you havent had it running right since you bought it I would try changing the main jet, drop it a size or 2 and see how she acts.

The thing is it worked okay for an hour or so and then I've had nothing but troubles. I've replaced all the seals, changed the carb 3 times and now I've started messing with the carb to see if that is the problem, I am completlly baffled and getting very angree at this point.

This may sound like a stupid ? but did you change to a new spark plug after fouling out the first one?
