why not just buy regular jets. the dial a jet is just a valve not an actual jet. and once you have a bike jetted correctly theres no reason to mess with it unless you radicaly change elevations or install performance parts.

Buy the dial a jet, it's the best investment you can make for the $$$$. You will never have to rejet again and yes you do need to rejet depending on temperature not just for mods and elevationn but with the dial a jet all you have to do is turn it a click or two and your set, no more pulling the carb and removing the float bowl. I also noticed a crisper throttle response, here is a pic. Look real close, you can see the tube from D.A.J just above fuel line. Dont listin to anyones opinion on one unless they have tried it, anyone I've talked to thinks of it like I do, they are worth there weight in gold. If you like you trike running its best year round like I do, dont hesitate to buy one.

i dont know about a kit but you can pick a few up from the dealer. if youre bikes jetted right you can tune it just by the screws for temp.

Dude, I hate to say it but you have no Idea what your talking about, you can not use the Idle screw to adjust for temper change. If your like me, you want your trike running it's best all year and the only way to do that is rejet or use the D.A.J. You can loose up to 15% of your total horse power by having the carb jetted wrong. The trike will not perform the same if it's jetted for 80 degrees and it's 50 degrees later in the year.

Yes they are easy to install and it comes with no jets, it has 5 different settings and thats all you should ever need, it's like having five different main jets all in one. Make sure you purchase the snorkle tube along with it for optimum performance.
Here follow this link and read about it. www.thunderproducts.com
Also you should know that Dirtwheels did an artical on the D.A.J. and they thought it was the best inventions of it's kind in years and highly reccomended it. I ordered one the same day I read it, I've had it for 2yrs and would not do without it.

I'm not sure if they have a pic of it or not but they do stock it, when you call tell them you need the snorkle kit also.

the only bad thing is that it wont work if you plan on going up in elevation. it only works to richen the mixture.
so my carb is jetted for NY at about 800 feet. i'm moveing to colorado where i'll be riding from 5800 feet all the way up to around 10000 feet. so i will need to lean out my carb alot. and i'm guessing i'll have to do more than just the main jet. if you read on that web site about how it works in the tech part. it says it only riches the mixture so you have to have to re jet it lean for it to work.
so in my case i would ahve to have my carb jetted for 10000 feet. so that the dial a jet would be able to work when i came down to 8000 and then down to 5000.
it also means that you have to have yoru carb jetted for hot weather. so that it can add fule when it gets cold out.
It's alot easyer to turn the dial a jet then it is to take a carb off to change a Jet.That's just my opinion. On my machine it is easy.
Yes, you also have jet the carb, and use a dial a jet at that elevation.

I hate it when people get on here and make opinions about something when they have no idea what thier talking about, go back to www.Thunderproducts.com and read a little more to get your facts straight.
Here is a little snipit to prove my point of it being adjustable for lean or rich.
Dial-A-Jet kits can usually be installed at home in approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours without having to remove and disassemble your carburetors. Dial-A-Jet now allows you to richen or lean your engine in seconds simply by turning a dial. The ability to adjust your carburetors externally may save you another trip to the local dealer to adjust your carburetors if they didn't get it right on the first try.
Lonn Peterson became interested in using Dial-A-Jets on snowmobiles in the winter of 1989/90. Lonn recognized a great need for this product in the snowmobile industry. Large altitude and temperature changes had to be dealt with, not to mention engine modifications requiring attention to the fuel system. They worked so well and the feed back was so positive that he decided to buy the company. Lonn and his wife, Ann, now own Dial-A-Jet which is part of Thunder Products, Inc.

LOL! I have your back too man. Idle scew, that's more funny than anything.
Now for the dial-a-jet my buddy had one on his raptor and it really sucked. It wasn't an install problem either. I say spend the 5 min and change the jet. Maybe I'm getting lazy but I only do it a couple of times a year anyway.

I wonder if he had it installed correctly or if he had the jstting wrong in the carb to start with, you have to jet your carb just a little on the lean side before installing the D.A.J. The reason I wondered if he had it done correctly is that the Raptor is one of the quads that Dirtwheels tested it on and it showed 2 more rear wheel HP on the dyno vs before installation. Dirtwheels gave it a big thumbs up and so do I. Oh well ask enough people about anything and you sure to get mixed reviews.

I agree, no matter how nice something is, it's not going to work for at least one person. Unfortunatly it was a friend so I kind got soured on the product too.
