I have been really wanting a 350X. I found a really clean 1986 350X for $1600. I'm going to look at it hopefully tonight. I want it bad but don't know what to look for on this bike. What are the biggest issues I should ask or look for? I really really aprreciate any advice you may have. Thanks, Chris

Check all the standard stuff. Check all the wheel bearings for any type of wear or loose play, listen very closely to the engine for any rattling or knocking noises. Check and observe the oil to see how clean/dirty it is. Check the gas tank for any rust and how bad it might be. Check the chain and sprockets for wear, Pull the seat and fenders off and check the airfilter to see how its been maintained if it all, Make sure all the brakes hold well, See how much adjustment is left on your cables (Throttle and clutch) Check the clutch perch lever for floppyness (This will be a decent indicator on the use of the machine). Make sure all the lights work, switches, ect. Check the tail light to make sure it burns. And most importantly check the frame for any cracks or breakage, 350x's are notorious for it. Not so much the later models as the early ones though. Places to check are in the back where the seat latches down, and around the backside of the footpeg areas. Good luck with it, if its in good shape thats not a bad buy.

Those are excellent suggestions. I will take note of these concerns and definately look at them. I will let you know what evolves from it. Anyone else out there who knows what to look for I would appreciate all the info possible.Thx, Chris

I got a hold of the guy and decided to buy it for $1500. I pick it up Saturday morning. The trike is really fresh and shows very little use. I can't wait to even detail it more to my standards. Now what do I do with my 200X. That 200X has been a great bike for the last 6 years, although I put a grand into a new motor but thats why its been so good.

I'm going to keep the 200x. I got way to much attachment to that thing. Mechanically its completley new and just recently I got new plastic, seat cover and professionally painted the tank with new deacals. New grips and bar pad too. I can't sell it. Its too fresh.
I'm dying for Saturday to come to get the 350X and just chill with it and check it out. I have never actually seen one up close or ridden one. Now with two 3 wheelers I want to collect more. I got the bug. I think 3 wheelers are like stray cats. You want to take them all in, but you can't.

I would be stoked if you posted a pciture of it. Do you still have the one I sent you? I technically don't have it yet, but I have left a deposit and the guy selling it is a really trust worthy guy so I am confident its a done deal. Please post it if you can. Thanks so much, Chris
