Anyone know where to get a set of nerf bars for a Big Red 250es?? I've seen a pic of one with them...not sure if it was custom or not. I'd like to put some on my '87 Big Red.

are you talking about nerf bars like on a mx atv or the bars that are on a big red?

I'm talking about the nerf bars that mount down where your feet go like on most 4 wheelers...

I have a nice set on my 85' Big Red. Thought I wouldn;t like them - but I love them now. If you get in a tight spot you can really shift your weight by standing on them. They also save your legs from sticks and logs that shoot up from the Front tire. If you are on a long cruise it is much more relaxing to rest your feet on the front of them as well. Mine look to be a factory set - not home made. Come to think of it - I never have seen another one with a set...Wouldn;t be too hard to make though...good luck

Sorry fellas, been really busy these last few. I finally took some - tried to send them to you Matt, but the address comes up no good. Give me another one and I'll send them to someone to post here. Mine look a lot different than the one posted here...

Well, I got brave and trued to attach them myself - wasn't difficult at all. Can you tell I'm a rookie with this stuff? Anyway I did'nt even have time to wash it down...I'll try to get some more pics of the underbelly. It's got a full skid plate - really protects it...
I hope this works...

what happened to the netting? the only bad thing about them would bend if you rolled over forwards at an angle

It was on one of the trikes when we bought it. As far as I know it is a stock Honda item. It is great for joyrideing and protects your feet and legs but it is a pain when you are down in a bog. Makes it hard to drag the machine out.
It is for sale for $50-00canadian but the shipping price would take it way over the top of anything reasonable.
No problem for a welder to make one up.

I am still interested possibly buying it from you.....let me know about how much $$ the total cost will be with shipping to Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70815. I do a lot of riding in woods with high weeds/thorns and it would definitely help me out. Also, does it bolt on to the bottom of the skid plate or what? Let me know, thanks.

I like the ones that Yamaha made for my 200ERN much better than those. I got pics on here somewhere of them... search under "Project Yamahauler" .. wait.. I'll go search myself and paste a link.

I will have to get back to you on Monday when the post office re-opens.
I think our time zone is 4.5 hrs ahead of you.
Not sure how big of a package they will handle.
It will probibly be cheaper for you to get one made.
I will check it out anyway and let you know Monday.

Ok, sounds good. Let me know what the post office says...It might be cheaper to get one made but I don't really know anyone who can do that around here. Thanks again.
