Its running really rich right now, but since i don't have the exhaust or any of that finished theres no sense in tuning it. If the second link doesn't work, keep trying, I'm still uploading it.

Yeah its far from done...I'm gonna pickup some lugnuts tomorrow and some other stuff and ride it a little and find out what other quirks I have to work out. It should be a very good woods machine and even decent on the track with a few minor mods.
Billy! i've known you for years now but your voice doesn't sound anything like I thought it would!
Killer ride you've got going there. You can lug her right down to 0 cant ya? :beer

What a beast! IM a big fan of that trike. Isthat just stock 350x suspension? Seems really squishy....

The banshee guys say they let the kicker go all the way down and when it comes up kick it real fast. They swear by it. ;)

Hey, I'm the same in that department! To me you sound older than you look. I thought maybe it was your Dad or something talking at first. ;)
Sounds good billy, hey jeb, nice avatar :)
Yeah, i talked my wife into posing by my 250R while in our white room. ;)
Seriously though, I guess it's not bad for a photo-chop of a Pam Andersen pic and the 86 R brochure pic! It was inspired by none other than yours! :beer

Matt,
Yeah the suspension is all stock 350x, and in pretty poor shape. The rear shock I'm sure needs a recharge and the front forks needs seals and new fluid, probably heavy duty springs along with spacers in it too. Once I get it up and moving around some I'll probably start working on the suspension. I definetly still want to use the CR500 but there is alot of work involved with it, and I don't know if I'm going to be able to do the shortening work for the front forks. Its alot more detailed and complicated then I anticipated. I've found a couple places that will do shortening of inverted forks, might have to buy another pair and send them to them.
I think I've got a pretty good technique going now, hehe. If I've had it running some I can crank it in one kick. Getting lugnuts today and maybe I'll have a chance to put around a little bit.

Yeah, you just need a current version of windows media player. You can watch either one, the high or low quality, but the high quality one will take longer to download.

Well, for it to be rideable I dont have to do a whole lot more...Brakes, control cables, some airbox work, a little more wiring. Thats the bare minimum.

Wow, that brought back memories. Back in '85 I built a trike with a nicholson frame '85 250r front end and aa '85 Prolink swinger and XL500 motor. Awsome bike, black barred a desert race Dist. 39 and ran enduros for several years with it. Kicked butt at Glamis too. I'm really happy for you and your 500, never had that much trouble starting it though.

Hows this build coming along billy? Intrested here.
I'm sure he's done with it. It was posted over three years ago. How did it turn out anyway? Any more videos? Riding?

Wow, this is old  It sat in my shop for a very long time after I broke the kick starter shaft off inside the cases. Eventually went to the barn, and then I later on used it on a partial trade for a 250sx to Lomax, then partial traded the 250sx back to him for the bike that I built my flat tracker out of, and the other 86 R I'm setting up for an MXer now. Last I had heard he traded or sold it to some guy and he wrecked it pretty hard core.
The build had a whole lot of problems and issues with it. I actually started it originally back in like 2000 or 2001, I can't remember. Whenever it was, at the time, the baddest 4 stroke quad was the 400ex which was some incentive to build it. I lost a lot of interest in it after the kicker shaft issues (a known weak point on that style XR500 motors with no real solution except to baby it ) I wish I had finished it, but I highly doubt I'll every try another build with the same intentions/idea.
