Did anyone catch a glimpse of the 85 Tecate that was on eBay the past week. It had a 4 inch Westcoast arm with a 6 inch Durablue axle and a Bassani pipe. New Maier fenders and a larger carb also. I had a a bid on it up to 700 dollars but it went up to 900 which was out of my price range. A real shame because it was only 3 hours drive away. I was going to carry all the trick parts (pipe, axle, swinger) back to Canada in my luggage when I go home in September and I was going to ship my swinger, axle and pipe back to Austin for him so we'd both have a Tecate each.
I was amazed to see this bike on eBay and nobody on here mention it. I'm glad to see these bikes still floating around out there with all these trick parts. Did anyone on here have a bid in on it or win it?

Took all I had not to bid on it!
I need a good ute but all those nice extras almost got me. :)
Thanks for the link! I had it saved in my favorites too I just didn't make the connection because it's an 84 model. It's probably within 30 minutes of where I set right now. Thought I might try if it stayed cheap.

well then...let me straighten you up here cause u seem to be uninformed about some things. first let me tell you what you can and can't get in 87 trikes. people on this board have 87 250 big reds, 87 200X's, 87 Tecate 3's and i think 87 250 SX's. these are still circulating around. as for the 87's you can't get they are the 250r's, 350X's and tri-z's. do some research on this board and the main page and you will learn.

no yamaha's or suzukis 3wheelers were made in 87 and i believe 87 r's and x's are out there. by the way 2 88 bigreds have been found.
Yes, there were definitely '87 KXT 250 Tecate 3-wheelers. (And '87 KXF 250 Tecate-4's)
Like the famous DirtWheels article said... "Last of the Fire Breathing 3-Wheelers"

Yes, i too believe the X's and R's are out there, maybe in Canada somewhere, hopefully Newfoundland, lol.
Firebreathing is right.
I got my Raptor shock to bolt into my 85 and also a JWR replica number plate for up front, blue CEET cover and matching fork boots, and I'm waiting back for a hit about a tank cover, seems the guy thinks he has one left around his house that hes tracking down for me. If not any of y'all that has one or knows where to get one please give me a PM as soon as y'all can, thanks. And the best news is that after almost a complete year now, CT Racing in California has finished my two Tecate cylinders and has shipped them to me as of the day before yesterday. Bout damn time, big workload or not it should not have taken that long to complete.
Great find on the JWR plate! Whoever you got it from wouldn't have anymore would they! ;)
Sound's like your KXT is well on the way!
