how much oil?

how much oil should a 82 250R hold in the motor?

The motor holds no oil (except some residual fuel/oil mix) .... the tranny however holds 0.95 qt after draining, 1.17 qt on a rebuild. Honda recommends 10W40.

ok thats what i meant so a full quart would be alright in the tranny, and i was thinking of using 10w40 synthetic amsoil or royal purple. what kinda of oil do you recommend to mix with the gas?

I would recommend Blue Marble for mixing. Burns clean!
