Welp today I got my ignition and aftermarket pipe. Here are some pics, the ignition is from a KX125 but the stator plate mounts up perfect and gives me more options for advancing or retarding the timing. Look at the difference in size of the flywheels. Talk about some high revs! I also got a Pro-Circuit Platinum pipe from a KX250. I have to remove 2 dents and then Ill be up and riding again!

Heres another pic of the sidecase that I shined up, Im hoping to do the whole engine. And while Im doing that I can fix that freakin oil leak.

Will a KX250 a/m pipe bolt on to the Tecate????

200Xbasket had to modify his procircuit KX 250 pipe to fit his 86 KXT.

With the KX125 stator and flywheel, you may need the CDI and Coil. It may not be enough spark.

Let us know how it turns out.

Ive got the cdi also, Im going to try and use my coil. Before buying the igniton I checked out several RM and KX 125s around here. All of them had just as much spark as my 250. Like Jeb said the pipe doesnt bolt right up but, hey Im up for a few mods.

the pipe will require quite a few mods. you will have to cut and rotate the neck. you will also have to add about 1/4" of material where you cut the neck to make it fit right. the tecate coil will work with the kx260 ignition but i have never tried it on a 125 set up.

you will also have to cut off and rehang the pipe mount. here are a couple pics. i doubt your stock silencer will fit up. I have another pipe that i built that i may sell. people just do not realize how much time and $$$$ is tied up in one.

Hey, I didnt go out and buy the pipe and think it was gonna bolt right up, I knew it was gonna take some mods. Im not in need of a silencer, Im planning on making a custom one. Thanks anyways.

There's another thing with that small of a flywheel, you may find it stalls easier. less rotating mass to keep it running. What little low-end the KXT has will suffer too.

If the ignition works, it should scream on top!

I allready geared it down to a 12 on front and will be going with 18 inch rear tires.
