i went to texas this weekend to pick up a 85 rolling 250r frame...the rolling frame was in better condiditon than i thought it would be...thanks stretch3{jason}...however when i kick the 500 motor over sometime i get a spark and sometime i get nothing...if i kick it over and keep the spark plug in my hand i get shocked each time but when i ground the spark plug sometime a get a strong blue spark and other time i get nothing...can someone help me...

If you have not tried more than 1 plug I would get a different plug and start there. Then I would be sure I had a really good ground to the frame.

i have tried 2 other spark plugs. after that i went a bought a new one...still the same result...sometimes a spark sometimes nothing...

If it is like my 85 R ignition, the engine has to be kicked a minimum of 600rpm for you to be a ble to see what the true spark looks like.

honda engines start on repititious kicks.....kick it a few times and see what it does..good luck

All 250r ignitions do not fire efficiantly until the engine is rotating 600rpms. This is what is stated in my honda repair manual. I don't know if the ignition is the same on the cr500 engine though.
