I justed purchased a 1982 ATC 110 and need help. There appears to be a low and high switch on the transmission. When the switch is in low it works fine. But when I switch it to high it does nothing. It acts like it is in neutral. Is there a special way to engage this to high? I just change it when the transmission is in neutral and like I mentioned, nothing. Maybe it is broken or something. Thanks to anyone that can help me engage this or fix it.

Rock the machine back and forth, and push the lever over as far as you can. You will feel it engage.I thought my Hi/low box was broke too....

you have to shift it into first to put it into high range. Shift into first and dont let the machine move and move the lever to high range.

They can be fun somtimes. I have had some that were real stiff to move. The two I have now move so easy they will switch between hi and lo just about anytime.

I too have an 82 ATC 110 but don't recall seeing a hi/lo lever. Can you please post pics to show where it is, or describe it's location ? :(

It is right behind the pull-starter. It is a lever that goes back and forth.

Given how much time I've spent near the recoil starter, I can't believe I missed this! Thanks a lot. Are there any other parts I've missed? You're going to tell me this thing has an engine next aren't you ? :-O
