hey
well im 14 and ive been around this forum for a while now and ive been wanting a trike for along time n i finally got to ride a trike today..a 1985 yamaha 200E. They are like nothing ive ever rode trailprotrailpro..you gotta balance yourself and lean into your turns. The only thing i didnt like is the front tire would slide sometimes instead of turn but i can live with that. Im glad to say im hooked on trikes n im selling my blaster for a big red or a yamaha 200E.

awesome, get yourself a 200x you will be very happy. 83-85 200x's are cheap and parts are very easy to find and will go about as fast as a blaster.

sounds good man..i dont want a 2 stroke im sick of piston and ring changes. Im thinking a 200X or a 250SX. Whats the topspeed of a 250SX and a 200E does anyone know

you shouldn't worry about top speed, in trails generally you only see the first 4 gears. the 250sx is more of a sport utilty trike, not familar with a 200e, but you want one of the better suspened models 200x, 350x. the 250sx is a shaft frive you can't change sprocket for more top speed, more acceleration, etc. myself I'd go with a 200x, I ride one and love it(well I like my race prepped 330 250r alot better) its nice in the woods and goes through stuff you will be suprised at. I top my 86 200x out,but where I ride there is wide open trails and I can open my bike up along side of the feilds, also there is tight trails and trails with lots of turns and technical stuff where I'm glad to have the low gears, the 200x is the best of both worlds. I think a 250sx tops out at about 50, 83-85 200x 55-60, go with a 200x, you will be very happy. remember two things with trikes don't get overconfident and LEAN ON TURNS/OFF CAMBERS.

My old 250SX that I sold last week would do between 55-60 depending on the weight of the driver. Buddy has a 2004 Suzuki Vinsion. It is either a 400 or 500 4x4. He has a speedometer and he said I was doing 54 at one point when we were side by side and I didnt have it nailed all the way. Close butg not full out. My 87 Big Red is just about as fast. Maybe just a bit slower. 5mph or so.

i sorta am looking for a sport utlity tho..preferably with shaft drive cuz i dont like messing with chains and sprokets....I also need 1 that can go thru some snow. That is a must because i live in canada.

my 185 honda will do over 80 km/hr.(50-55 mph) Thats plenty fast for a trike with no suspension. It will beat my friends honda 500 4X4. and my polaris 250 sportsman. Its also more fun to drive than my polaris because of the tight turns, wheelies, weight and on and on.the only disadvantage is the ball busting lack of suspension. Hardly any air in the tires helps though.Doesnt do hills very well because the clutch is going and its hard to downshift when your going uphill. I have a spare engine with a good clutch. Is the clutch hard to change in a 185? It looks like you might need a special tool????

Easy. Dont make um think we live in igloos.Where I live in ontario they get waaay more snow across the lake (Buffalo N.Y.) I know yous guys down east get lots though.
Anyhoo I just wanted to let our american friends know that we have 4 seasons in canada and that it gets in the 90s in the summer (or more). Just so they dont get the common misconception that we have smow year round. LOL

200E is a little lower geared than most... and no rear suspension (atleast not on the 83 models) Is a great trike but not the fastest in the fleet... maybe 45 if you wind it way too much downhill... lol.. but it does great in snow and mud.

i looked at a 1983 Honda 200E a while back...it was trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro the swing arm was welded...poorley at that and the chain always fell off...the compression was weak and he wanted $600 for it...around here u can get a good running trike for about $800.
