I bought a motor and I just got it on and I'm getting coolant in the cylinder. The motor is a LA SLEEVE 310.I tried to start it without coolant and it fired right up.I only let it run for a second just to make sure I had everything hooked up right. The next day I put water in it and it did start but shortly after started acting like it had a fouled plug.I took out the plug and it was covered in coolant.I changed the head gasket and that didn't work.I took a closer look and noticed that the cylinder hole is bigger than the head gasket hole. The piston is hitting the gasket. The gasket I originally took off was the same way.Could this be why there is coolant in the cylinder? How can I fix this problem?Any help would be great. Thanks,Jeremy

I'm not familair with big bores, but maybe you need a special big bore head gasket from ESR or someother big bore company. Make sure both head and cylinder surfaces are straight.

Sounds like you have the wrong gasket. Most gasket ccompanies offer a bigbore head gasket. You need to look into those.

I would call LA Sleeve and ask them what the problem is and if they know where you can get a gasket.

get a cometic gasket set for 72 or 73 mm sleave. I get mine from http://www.totalperformance-llc.com/send.asp . I had the same problem with my motor until I found out that it had a big 300cc sleave.
