250r frame ?'s

just wondering if the frame on my '81 250r is the same as, or close to a later model bike.....my reason is the newer bikes look wayyyy better. like the gas tank and stuff

Nope. It goes: 81/82 or 83/84 or 85/86 (and theres even differances there).

so a later model gas tank and stuff would not work..........i wouldn't mind doing a "little" modification, but nothing really major

The 81/82's were lghtyears apart in -every- department. The 83/84 had far superior suspension but still cant compare to the 85 or 86 R's.

Im not perfectly sure but I believe your 81 engine will bolt right into an 83/84 frame (that gives you way better suspension, looks and aftermarket products).
