the tri-moto sounds like it needs a new coil or something to do with the spark, try cleaning the petcock out too.

on the tri moto make sure the fuel tank vent is notplugged..Sounds like its in vapor lock from a bad vent..
Have you checked the jet on the 110 to see if its clear and not plugged?

whats a petcock
it is where you turn the fuel on, off, or reserve. it also has a screen on the bottom that catches dirt that is in the gas going into the engine.

It sounds to me like you have a bad CDI on the Tri-Moto, but you didn't say what year or model it is (Although I'm assuming its the 200 model since the 225DX is usually refered to as such and not a Tri-Moto even though it is one). If you have the shop manual for it, try doing the recommended electrical tests on it. If you are in "good" with them, you could take it to a dealer and have them check it, but chances are they are going to say its bad no matter what and try and rip you off for a new one weather you need one or not. As far as the 110 goes, and after you have tried the other suggestions about vent hoses and such, try giving the carb a through cleaning (as has been stated before) but chances are if it has high miles or hours, the carb is shot - its one of the few carbs that actually can "wear" out. Those horizontal mill 90, 110, 125m's carbs seem to have been made with "Design Obsolesence" in mind. The parts for it are available individually (try partsfish). You could buy a new one, but that'll set you back $180 - ouch.

Check your floats. They may not be adjusted right... or they could be plugged up..
