less than 100 made..

Kasey's inspired me to get a set of Ten Cups for it....

my wife thinks it will be the death of me next desert season (some of you will be happy to hear that)

it handles bitchen..pegs are set at a wider stance than my 350x, i have to slap my shifting foot in close to shift, but i'm already use to it...

rake makes it handle supreme through long fast corners.....

suspension is totally trick...gonna blow through the whoops at the bottom of the hills out in the imperial sand dunes

and i beat out 2 individuals who tried to purchase it...one offered 3k plus shipping another offered 3700 p/shipping

the thump plus the geary swish makes it have a truley one of a kind sound

frame is chromolly...it feels a little lighter than a 200x when i throw it on the trailer...

and with all girls in my family...believe me, i throw alot of toys on and off my trailer and toy box

i will get close ups of all the trike soon for you to enjoy...

Mymint87

btw....I think I'll change my name to Myturbo500
or maybe i'll let the board decide a new name for me.....got any suggestions?

and holic...lay off the rooster-doo smack..I'm not sporting a mullet....hehe

My favorite mullet is the "fading glory." As in when a mulleted person is going bald from front to back.

I need to know more. What makes this trike so special? Suspension looks like an old farm trike from what I see. I have never heard of it, tell me about it. 4 stroke 500 I'm guessing. Will it run iwth a 85 250R? You have to be completely honest about that last question. I need to see more pictures.

You need to tell people about the trike. I don't think they know how bad ass the thing is.

So whats the deal about this trike?

mymint87

well i dont know where to begin...i'm on cloud 9...its a nicholson 500 turbo

the chromoly frame is chromed..the gears are shot peened (sp.) its got fox suspension in the rear 250 r rear brakes and is one of the rarest trike that is out there...and i wouldn't trade it for 3 tigers and a cagiva..and i cant imagine what it would pull on egay

this is big/good news for all enthusiasts..the puzzle continues to be put together...thanks to web sites like this one....

and if this isn't fresh enough for ya

big news is on the horizon

stay tuned.......

Its a 79 XR 500 motor I believe. So four stroke. And look at the turbo!! Thats all I know.

It is a 79 XR500 engine, same as what I'm using in my 500x project I started back in 01. The stock engine produces approx 35hp stock, as modded as that one is (With a turbo and all) who knows, probably something closer to 50.

There is a magazine article on the site about these chassis kits, under the "Scanned Mag articles" page.

mymint87 made a post a while back about it being for sale, did everybody forget about this? everyone was amazed then that he found a nicholson 500, well, at least I was. I can't believe he bought it though, that's crazy.
The reason it looks like a "farm trike" is because most of the parts are borrowed from early style (80-84) trikes. and of course the motor being that of a 79? xr 500. The only custom parts were the frame and I think swingarm, and prolly the pipe and intake. I think anyway, if I remember correctly from that article.
That trike was bad ass back in the day, and it for sure still is now.
I wonder how close it would be with an R?

hey HondaATC, I'd like to see an update on your 500x, you should start a new thread with pics, if you have made any more progress on it anyways, I thought maybe you gave up

Na, its still over at the shop, I haven't gave up on it all the way yet.

I will say, after crawling around the woods at haspin with my TRX250R I think the ATC500X would be alot better suited for that kind of terrain, so thats my motivation to get it done. You guys think the parts being discontinued for trikes suck, try getting parts for an engine from 79! Luckily, anything from 79-82 interchances, along with that of the XL500 Enduro. The 82-83 FT500 Ascot Street bike also has an engine that is almost identical (Has electric start even!). I don't have any real recent pictures of it, but I can post some of what I have in a new thread.

smokinwrench,

i'm sorry to say that new photos are about 2 to 3 weeks away...

200xalltheway,

i found it in a town called rancho san diego (East part of county)
but with the influx of illegals around here i call the town Rancho Bagdad

i dont want to twist up too much the two people from the east coast who tried to buy it...but i can let both of you know i paid less than 2 g's for it....

atc crazy,

yes it really is turbo, it has a little boost gauge on top of the headlght shroud...i'm still learning about it...the casing on the clutch side has been modified to allow lubrication lines to the turbo....
