When you store you trike or haul them....what position do you put them in?
Standing up on the back tires or flat?
Does it hurt anything when they are stored on the back tires or transported like that?
I've seen it done, but wondered if its all right.
I tried putting my 200X like that and gas kept leaking out the carb overflow tub...actually it was coming out of the tube out of the bottom of the airbox....even with the fuel in the off position....what would cause that?
Thanks!

it leaked because there was gas still in the carb float bowl, its ok to store them like this as long as you drain all the fluids

all fluids as in oil and gas? is this for only long term (6months to a year or more) or anytime you store them like that (one week to a month or so)
Thanks!
Sorry for all the basic questions, i just figure its better to ask than to f something up :beer

It's perfectly safe to store them like that. but make sure your gas is off. gas tank lid is is tight. And after you put it on all the wheels and turn the gas on, let it sit for like 30 seconds. so the float will fill up again.
And i curious what year 200x you have. :D

cool....
I have an '85 200X, nothin special....needs some tlc, but it runs good :D Picked it up for a couple hundred a few years ago, and been riding it since. Has a DG pipe and all on it, that was probably worth the money I paid for the whole bike :beer

Personally if you can, I would hang them from the ceiling. They will be somewhat out of the way and you wont get flat spots or bad dry rot from them being on the ground. Just a thought.

that is an awesome idea!! :beer :D and to add to that a little , if you know you are gonna be storing it for 6 months or more, i would drain the gas or at least treat it with some sta-bil or something similar. i use it in my boat for the winter to keep the gas fresh!!

I agree if your gonna store it for a while I would spray that outboard motor 'fogging oil" in there like the directions say. Along with fuel stabilizer. It will crank right up!

I have been storing trikes stood up for over 20 years. I usually turn off the fuel and let them run until they die. That way the gas in the carb bowl does not dribble on things when I stand them up.

i dont coat anything with wd-40, and i also wouldnt advise doing that. i do and will coat the entire machine with a spray product we call 656 around here. it displaces moisture and protects electrical parts very nicely in my boat and on my trike. greg
