Just curious what could have prevented some of you diehards from coming? It is a good distance, but well worth it. There were alot of names on the list that did not show, and I was looking forward to meeting some of you. what happened???? Mabey next year.................

well i never put my name on the list. i am a three wheeled lover and even though my wife rides a quad (polaris scrambler) she grew up on three wheelers and loves them. she didnt want to use her vacation time for it but i had the trailer loaded with alltoys. 18ft low boy and the back of my truck ( i had the 81r 85r 83r atc70 us90 yz250 and my wifes scrambler. but needless to say she talked me out of it. for the simple fact that is a very long drive by myself. which i am sorry i missed but she was right.

Im in the same boat as 350Xccelerator. Why does California have to be so far away?

Couldn't get the time off work for it, and with all the time it would take to drive there, wouldn't be feasible.

Well, I had all intentions of going. Wife quit her job two weeks ago, and we will make ends meet, but no more fun for awhile. I had already planned an 8 day canoe trip in Canada planned for the last week of June. No stopping me next year.

I was going to drive from Utah, had been planning on it for awhile.

I had to pay alot out in taxes this year, which cut into my trikefest fund.

I really wish i was able to pull it off.

A bit to far from Reno, NV.

Maybe we need a West Coast Trike Fest?

well one reason is gas money way to far to spend that kind of money. on 1 trip. also one week trailprotrailpro trikefest i wrecked my new truck and atv and trailer all at once. you would have paid for it all right. hmm around 9 grand...........

I have Final Exams for school this week (monday through thursday) and I cant afford to miss them. The week before TF was nothing but reviews for the tests...so I was screwed either way. :( If TF was a week later...I'm 50% sure I was going to go.

Add to that, that Im 16 and live 440 miles away (sounds close to some of you huh?),Dont know where it is (somewhere in Laurel, IN right?), and I probably would have had to make the trip on my own (If the boss (mom) would let me).

Next year....I am planning on going if its not during Exams. And I might have a XR650R by then...so my dad will have something to ride (so I can talk him into coming ;) )

My reason for not going is purely financial.. No money!!

I had preliminary approval from my wife to make the trip but spent a few too many weekends away on business trips during the past several months which, by the way, isn't my fault. (We got into that "it pays the bills..." discussion, if you know what I mean ;) )

Anyhow, she told me I had to spend some quality time with her. I had to choose between TF and domestric tranquility. Maybe I made the wrong choice? :D

I've told her that come Hell or high water I will be at TF05 and, in fact, she is going to borrow her brother's Big Red and come with me.

Yamahammer, Family is always more important, but let me stress that this is a family event, if they are interested, and most of the people who went will tell you it would have been worth the trip, even if they had nothing to ride. While its a 3 wheeling theme, quads and bikes are also welcome. I am hoping we see more kids in the future. The few that were there enjoy it more, when more kids are there. It worked out great with Howdys boys being there the whole time, and one was closer to TimJr's age, and one was closer to Hunter's age.

California, Indiana, 440 miles!?!?

My reason was distance and the amount of time it would take to travel it.

Let's see, 221 miles from Homer to Anchorage, Anchorage to Chicago (taking most direct routes the atlas says) is 3818 miles, Chicago to Indianapolis looks to be about 200 miles. (I couldn't find Haspin Acres on the map so I chose a central location) That totals up to about 4239 miles. Of course I'd drive it, you can't put a trike on the airlines.

Will there be a Most-Distance-Traveled prize at TF05? :-)

Hagen - Where are you from?

Billy Golightly
06-18-2004, 12:21 AM
He's from Germany, and I'm pretty sure that mileage would have him beat....However atcmatt says he might try and make it next year (From Australia  )

I can't remember for sure but I was thinking Hagen traveled a little over 4300 miles just to come to TF. At any rate it would be very close.

This year I did give out some 3WheelerWorld hats for distance traveled. Dads got one for the farthest distance ( Driving ). Hagen got one for the farthest traveled. What am I doing next year? I don't know for sure yet, I am still in the planning stages. I have a lot of idea's I am still kicking around. ;)

had planned on coming for a LONG time, but it just wasn't in the stars this year. changed jobs and had to start on the 1st and dont have any vacation till nex june 1st. so as long as you keep it after that date, i WILL be there the next time.

I was on vacation in the Virgin Islands. Thats a pretty good reason I think. (It was planned before the TF date was set)
